It has been a while since my last post to this blog. I have been
on somewhat of a sabbatical, searching for meaning in many areas of life. If
you read this blog regularly you have probably noticed that the header reads as
follows: We're committed to helping you
discover and become who you were created to be, by equipping you with tools and
support to grow spiritually, emotionally, socially, physically, and
economically. So as I return to writing today I want to share food for the soul.
Something that will hopefully help you continue to grow spiritually and
emotionally. After all, once we find balance in these areas, everything else
will follow.
I was recently reading a book by T.L. Lowery pertaining to
regaining the biblical gifts and I came across this statement. "As a divine archaeologist, Moses began to dig
under the rubble of Egyptian slavery to show Israel that their recent past was
not the basis of their identity. Before there was an Egypt, God created man in
His own image. Israel was not simply a nation of slaves who had lost their
freedom, they were sons of Abraham called to be a blessing to the
world." I was deeply provoked in thought and encouraged in
some of the challenges I have recently experienced.
I would like to expound more on this thought by saying if you are experiencing more nights than days
right now, do not let your present circumstances define you. Remember joy does
come in the morning. And morning is when you have and accept the revelation of
and from the almighty God. He has a plan for you... to prosper you, to give you
a hope and a future. Seek Him that you may know the way that He is showing you
and walk in it. Although it may be curvy and bumpy, God knows the best route
for you to take to get you to your destination. What may seem out of the way or
the long hard road may actually be the only path that will get you there alive!
Remember that when you start to grumble and complain. Father knows best!
Beneath the pain of your recent or even distant past, is a promise that God has made to you. And that is to never leave nor forsake you and to cause you to triumph in His name. Matthew 11:28-29 says “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." Your job is to labor to enter into the REST of God so that the challenges of the journey will not overtake you.

Isaiah 40:29-31 says "He gives power to the weak and strength
to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will
fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.
They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary.
They will walk and not faint." Notice that He did not say that you
will not get weak. But He does promise power when you do. And when your power
fails, not His, He will give you new strength to carry on if you TRUST Him...
His plans, and His ways!
What is amazing here is that he tells you... YOU ARE NOT SUPER
WOMAN/ SUPER MAN. Everyone at some time will feel overwhelmed, weak, tired, or
even fallout from exhaustion. And yes even good works or the work of the
ministry can be a culprit. But remember another promise that He has made... Do
not grow weary in well doing for you shall reap if you faint
not. The key to this is to REST in Him, trusting Him with all things
and for all things. Continue to work and move forward realizing that He will
help you with what you do not know or cannot handle. Although you are not SUPER
WOMAN / SUPER MAN, He is. And nothing is to hard or impossible for Him! Only
believe.
This promise – you shall reap if you do not grow weary in well
doing in and of itself lets you know that in life you will have times that you
may want to give up or feel that it is not worth going on. There will be
times when you even question why. But if you can REST in knowing Him and His
power and stand on His promises you will see and experience brighter days...
You will REAP if you just stay the course.
I would like to leave you with this assurance, Romans 8:37-39 "No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us." Proverbs 1:33 "But all who listen to me will live in peace, untroubled by fear of harm.” And finally I invite you to share with me in this gift that He has so freely given in John 14:27 “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.

When you freely receive this gift, it is amazing how life seems to
get a little easier and the journey more enjoyable. Just like Israel
was not simply a nation of slaves who had lost their freedom, neither are you.
They were sons of the Abraham called to be a blessing to the world and so are
you. Find that thing that you were created to do. And DO IT! You never know who
you will inspire when you do. You can do it... don’t give up!
